Following the JNC`s first guidelines (November 25, 11), you will find the attached supplementary note 1, which addresses some of the issues raised by local authorities at the national level regarding the remuneration of local government employees for the 2011/2012 wage policy (additional service- 12 Jan). The Green Paper, known as the Single Agreement, covers the remuneration and conditions of 1.4 million local government employees, from architects to school catering staff, cleaning staff and lawyers. These agreements are also used to determine the remuneration and conditions of local authority staff. Employers are now encouraging local organisations to accept the rates set by HMRC, which can be found on the .gov.uk website: www.gov.uk/expenses-and-benefits-business-travel-mileage/rules-for-tax of Council staff, a 2.0% pay increase has been proposed from 1 April 2020.
